Offered through the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity, Pathfinder is a free online career exploration and planning tool that provides information to students, their parents, and guidance staff to make informed choices about educational and career options, as well as to help with creation of educational development plans. This free tool uses current labor market information, longitudinal wage data, and other institutional data and metrics, allowing improved skills-matching to career paths and jobs.

Pure Michigan Talent Connect

Pure Michigan Talent Connect provides information on new jobs, careers and talent. It is a tool connecting Michigan’s job seekers and employers, and serves as a central hub linking public and private stakeholders who support Michigan’s workforce. Pure Michigan Talent Connect serves as the state’s labor exchange system.

This is LARA's dedicated page for skilled immigrant licensing. It includes Pathway Guides for foreign trained medical physicians, registered nurses, and dentists seeking to become licensed professionals in Michigan.

Available free through their Online Learning Institute, courses are designed for refugee employment staff and job readiness instructors and can be used for professional development or training.

A US government website, this link offers information on gaining certifications and credentials, to discrimination.

 

Refugee Center Online

 

The Refugee Center Online offers resources that have been curated by resettled refugees and immigrants. The site has free GED and U.S. Citizenship Test classes, provides help with resumes, and offers information on how to obtain a driver’s license.

Visitors to this ACLU page can learn how to respond to various scenarios such as what to do when law enforcement asks about immigration status and how to challenge a deportation order after an arrest.
